Cookie Policy

A short, honest account of the cookies and local storage PDFDock uses, and the trackers it deliberately avoids.

Last updated: 8 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how PDFDock uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Our approach mirrors the rest of the product: use the minimum necessary, keep it transparent, and never track you across the web.

What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Related technologies, such as localStorage, let a site remember small pieces of information on your device between visits. Together they allow a website to remember your preferences and keep basic functionality working smoothly.

How we use them

PDFDock relies on only a few, grouped into clear categories:

  • Strictly necessary. These keep the site working and, if you are signed in, maintain your session securely. The site cannot function properly without them, so they do not require consent.
  • Preferences. Stored locally in your browser, these remember choices such as your last-used tool settings so you do not have to set them again. They stay on your device.
  • Analytics (optional). If enabled, these record anonymous, aggregated usage, for example, that a tool was opened, with no document data and nothing that identifies you personally.

What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, social-media trackers, or fingerprinting. Nothing we store inspects, reads, or transmits the contents of your documents. There are no third-party advertisers embedded in PDFDock.

Third-party cookies

A small number of essential providers may set their own cookies when their features are in use, for example, our payment processor during checkout on a paid plan. These are limited to delivering the specific feature you have requested and are governed by that provider's own policies.

Managing your preferences

You are always in control. Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies and clear local storage through its settings, and lets you browse privately. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of PDFDock, such as staying signed in, may not work as intended. Clearing local storage will reset your saved tool preferences.

Changes to this policy

If our use of cookies changes, we will update this page and revise the date above. Significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
