Acceptable Use Policy

The handful of rules that keep PDFDock safe, lawful, and dependable for everyone who uses it.

Last updated: 8 July 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out how you may and may not use PDFDock. It forms part of our Terms of Service. The spirit of it is simple: PDFDock is a document toolkit for lawful work, so use it for that, and treat the Service and other people fairly.

Permitted use

You may use PDFDock to organize, convert, edit, optimize, and read your own documents, or documents you are authorized to handle, for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. Because processing happens on your device, your files remain private to you throughout.

What you must not do

You agree not to use PDFDock to:

  • Handle documents you have no right to. Do not process files you are not authorized to access, copy, or modify.
  • Create fraudulent or deceptive materials. Do not forge, falsify, or alter documents to mislead, defraud, or impersonate, for example, tampering with contracts, identity documents, invoices, or official records.
  • Infringe others' rights. Do not use the Service to violate intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, or publicity rights.
  • Break the law. Do not use PDFDock in connection with any unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity.
  • Distribute malicious content. Do not attempt to process or spread malware, or to embed harmful code in generated files.

Protecting the Service

To keep PDFDock reliable and secure for everyone, you also agree not to:

  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or the networks and infrastructure behind it.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent its security or authentication measures, without our express permission.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the Service for the purpose of building a competing product, except to the limited extent the law permits.
  • Use automated means to abuse the Service, evade usage limits, or resell access without authorization.

A note on enforcement

Because your documents are processed locally and never uploaded, we generally have no visibility into the specific files you work with, and that is by design. This policy is therefore about the conduct we can see and the integrity of the Service. Accounts found abusing the Service, particularly paid features or our infrastructure, may be limited or suspended.

Consequences of violations

Violating this policy may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of your access, and, where appropriate, referral to the relevant authorities. We will act reasonably and in proportion to the conduct involved.

Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is misusing PDFDock, or you have a security concern to report, please contact us so we can investigate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as the Service evolves. The date above reflects the latest revision, and continued use of PDFDock indicates your acceptance of the current version.
